In September 2010, the Association's Management Committee staged the first major event in the history of the Friends of Manor Farm Park. Aptly named 'Fun in the Park'

All people in the area, not just Association
Members, were invited to come along and enjoy a day in the park. A variety of activities for children of all ages, as well as adults, were on offer. During the four hours the Event was running, over 300 people attended and it was quite a success. Despite the day starting with an overcast sky and some light rain, during which the Committe and volunteer helpers set up the marquee, gazebos and various other attractions; by 1130 the outlook had improved somewhat and the sky had begun to brighten. It was starting to look as though we had picked the right day after all!
(Sadly, the same cannot be said for the 22nd May event this year, 2011, when we went to the effort of putting on refreshments for those taking part in the sponsored walk; their supporters, friends and anyone else that found themselves in the park that day. We grandly named it Picnic in The Park but it has since been renamed the Hurricane in The Park. Three of four gazebos we were using were damaged beyond repair. Anyone wishing to help us replace these items, please go to the Contact Us page).
As a first attempt at putting on entertainment in the park, however, the Committee deserve a pat on the back and a vote of thanks for their sterling work in organizing and managing the Fun in the Park event. It is expected that 2012 will see similar successes.
